Day 2
Amman, Jerash, Dead Sea
After breakfast, drive north for a full day visit of Jerash, one of the largest and best preserved Roman sites outside of Italy. It is an excellent example of Roman architecture including paved and colonnaded streets, hilltop temples, amphitheatres, spacious public squares and plazas, bathhouses, fountains and a city wall pierced by towers and gates. Continue by road to the shore of the Dead Sea where you can float and try to swim in the unique, salty waters before returning to Amman for the night.

Day 3
Madaba, Mt. Nebo, Kerak Castle
Leave Amman for a scenic drive along the King’s Highway to Petra, crossing deep Wadis, olive groves, and driving through remote rural villages. En-route, see the Roman mosaics at Madaba, enjoy great views of Israel from Mt. Nebo, and visit Kerak Castle, one in a chain of Crusader fortresses built across Jordan in the 12th Century.
Overnight Petra 3 star Al Anbat Hotel (B)

Day 4
Petra
Enjoy a full day today inside the world famous Nabatean site of Petra. Carved into the rocks and left undiscovered for centuries Petra has always been an enduring attraction for explorers. Take a guided tour of the area with plenty of free time to explore on your own. This evening you may book an optional visit to Petra for the spectacular Petra by Candlelight tour.

Drive towards Wadi Rum and en route visit the site of Little Petra, which was a suburb of the main city and provides a great insight into the building of the larger buildings and tombs. At Wadi Rum, enjoy Bedouin hospitality and a 4WD jeep safari through the spectacular desert scenery with its towering cliffs, bizarre rock formations and sandy dunes. At the end of the day, drive back to Amman for the night.
If you wish you can extend your tour today. One option is to just add one day to your trip by spending the night tonight under the starts in a Bedouin camp right inside the Wadi Rum reserve before returning to Amman.
